Sadé McCreath Ties Canadian 100m Record with Historic 10.95s Run
Toronto, ON – June 27, 2025 — Canadian sprinter Sadé McCreath delivered a career-defining performance this past weekend, tying the national 100-metre record with a blazing time of 10.95 seconds at the Bob Vigars Classic in London, Ontario.
The performance ties the current Canadian record and sets the fastest 100m ever run by a woman on Canadian soil. McCreath’s time also meets the World Athletics Championships qualifying standard, further solidifying her status as one of the nation’s top sprinting talents heading into the global stage.
In the preliminary round, McCreath already made waves with a wind-assisted 10.94, before returning to the track in the final and officially recording 10.95 with a legal wind reading of +1.2 m/s.
“This moment means everything,” said McCreath. “To run sub-11 on home soil, in front of my people, and etch my name into Canadian sprinting history — it’s surreal. But this is just the beginning.”
The performance builds on McCreath’s outstanding season, which includes helping Canada’s national relay teams set new records in both the women’s and mixed 4×100m events earlier this month.
As she aims for the 2025 World Athletics Championships, McCreath’s momentum, consistency, and composure under pressure position her as a strong contender for the podium on the world stage.
