TSE Signs Goalkeeper Grant Calvert, Heads to FC Cincinnati 2 Preseason

January 28, 2026

We're excited to announce that goalkeeper Grant Calvert has been invited by FC Cincinnati 2 to participate in their MLS NEXT Pro preseason camp beginning next week.

Grant, 23, recently completed an outstanding final season at Belmont University, posting a .824 save percentage and a 0.77 goals-against average while helping lead the Bruins to a strong unbeaten streak. The 6'2" goalkeeper started all 17 matches for Belmont in 2025, recording five shutouts and earning MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

A product of Sporting Kansas City's Academy system, Grant brings professional-level training and a strong developmental foundation to his game. His college career spanned more than 50 matches at Belmont and Saint Louis University, where he trained alongside current Columbus Crew starting goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.

"Grant's final season at Belmont showed significant growth and consistency," said Patrik (Agent). "His academy background, combined with his elite college performance, positions him well for this opportunity. FC Cincinnati 2's invitation to preseason camp is an excellent step to begin his professional career."

Grant will compete for a roster spot with FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, a strong developmental pathway that has seen over 230 players earn MLS first-team contracts to date.

We look forward to supporting Grant through this process and helping him launch his professional career.
