Tonbara Sports & Entertainment Signs Waterloo Warriors Defender Katina Duscio

OUA First Team All-Star brings three years of NCAA Division I experience.

TORONTO / MIAMI / NEW YORK — Tonbara Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of Katina Duscio, a defender who recently completed her collegiate career at the University of Waterloo.

Duscio, a 5-9 defender from Kitchener, Ontario, earned 2025-26 OUA First Team All-Star honours in her first season with the Warriors after transferring from NCAA Division I hockey. She was named team MVP in Game 1 of the OUA playoffs and was a key contributor as Waterloo hosted the U SPORTS National Championships.

Before returning home to Ontario, Duscio spent three seasons at St. Lawrence University in the ECAC, one of the top conferences in NCAA women's hockey. Playing a top-four role on the Saints' blueline, she led St. Lawrence with 77 blocked shots in 2023-24 and recorded four goals and 11 assists for 15 points, including two game-winning goals. As a freshman, she added one goal and seven assists for eight points and blocked 28 shots.

Duscio's excellence extended beyond the ice. She was named an AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar in 2023-24 and earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team honours in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

At St. Mary's High School in Kitchener, Duscio was a multi-sport athlete and team captain who earned Softball MVP of the Year and Junior Athlete of the Year honours. She also received the Academic Distinction Award and finished in the top 10 per cent of her class. Before college, she developed through the Kitchener-Waterloo Rangers PWHL program, serving as both assistant captain and team captain.
