New York Sirens Forward Kristin O’Neill Named to Canada’s National Women’s Team for 2026 Olympic Winter Games

TORONTO, ON – January 9, 2026 – Tonbara Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce that client Kristin O’Neill has been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy.

O’Neill, a standout forward for the New York Sirens (PWHL), will make her Olympic debut following years of excellence within the Hockey Canada program. After serving as a reserve "taxi squad" player during the 2022 Beijing Games, O’Neill’s selection for the 2026 roster marks a milestone achievement in a career defined by resilience and elite two-way play.

"Representing Canada at the Olympics has been my ultimate goal since I first laced up my skates in Oakville," said Kristin O’Neill. "The journey to get here—from Cornell to the PWHL and the disappointment of 2022—has only made this moment more meaningful. I am incredibly honoured to join this team and compete for a gold medal in Milan."

O’Neill has become one of the most reliable centers in professional hockey, currently leading the PWHL in faceoff win percentage and serving as a premier penalty killer. Her "breakout" performance at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship, where she was named one of Canada’s Top 3 players, solidified her status as a vital component of the national team’s core.

"Kristin is the ultimate 'coach’s player'—someone who excels in the toughest situations and never backs down from a challenge," said Patrik Darabont, CEO of Tonbara Sports & Entertainment. "Her evolution from a record-breaking captain at Cornell to a dominant force in the PWHL and now an Olympian is a story of pure determination. We couldn’t be prouder to have her representing Tonbara on the world stage."

The 2026 Olympic Winter Games will take place from February 6–22, 2026. Canada enters the tournament as the defending gold medalists.
