Edmonton Elks Star Nick Anderson Partners with Goodwill Alberta for Spring Cleaning Campaign

2024 CFL Rookie of the Year joins Alberta non-profit to encourage donations and support employment programs for Albertans with disabilities

EDMONTON, AB (March 26, 2026) – Edmonton Elks linebacker and 2024 CFL Most Outstanding Rookie Nick Anderson has partnered with Goodwill Industries of Alberta as an ambassador for the organization's annual Spring Cleaning Campaign.

Anderson, who led the CFL in total tackles during his record-breaking rookie season and was named to the All-CFL team, is encouraging Albertans to donate their gently used items this spring. The Spring Cleaning Campaign is Goodwill Alberta's largest annual initiative, driving donations that directly fund job training and employment programs for Albertans with disabilities.

"Being involved in the Edmonton community is really important to me," said Anderson. "When I learned about the incredible work Goodwill Alberta does to help people with disabilities find meaningful employment, I knew this was a partnership I wanted to be part of. Clearing out your closet this spring can truly change someone's life."

Since 1963, Goodwill Industries of Alberta has been dedicated to empowering Albertans with disabilities through the power of work. Ninety-two cents of every dollar spent in Goodwill stores supports job training and employment opportunities, while 88% of donated goods are diverted from landfills through the organization's sustainability programs. In 2025, Goodwill Alberta reached a historic milestone by surpassing one million donations.

The partnership is part of Anderson's growing commitment to community involvement in Alberta. The Vicksburg, Mississippi native has quickly become a fan favourite in Edmonton since arriving in the CFL and recently signed a contract extension with the Elks through 2026.

Albertans can join Nick Anderson in supporting Goodwill's Spring Cleaning Campaign by donating gently used clothing, household goods, and furniture at any of Goodwill's 35 donation centres across the province. For accepted items and locations, visit goodwill.ab.ca.
